John was born and raised in Tompkinsville Kentucky, and got his first 4-wheeler at the age of 4. It was a Honda ATC 70; he rode it for about a year and decided he wanted to try riding a dirt bike.

John raced in a few GNCC and Mid South Hare Scrambles events, whenever he had a chance.  He continued racing and riding dirt bikes until he was 13. He then became very interested in racing ATVs. The transition was natural since his Dad John and Uncle William were both successful Pro ATV racers.  John raced the GNCC Series in the 13-15 schoolboy class in the morning race.  When he turned 15, he started to become more serious about racing.  John competed in a number of GNCC events in 2009.  He had to take a break when he sustained a knee injury while playing basketball that required surgery. 

John attends Monroe County High School where he plays basketball and football, as well as maintaining a straight A grade point average.  John is looking forward to the 2010 racing season aboard his Polaris machine, and being teamed up with Jarrod McClure and William Yokley.  John says, “I’ve already attended some promotional events with the National Guard Polaris Yokley Racing ATV Team, and it’s a great honor meeting and working with the men and women protecting our country in war and natural disasters”.
